Video: Crinkles

This is by far one of my most favorite hair styles. This is a style which I tried my best to emulate years ago using extension braids while not realize that my own beautiful nappy hair could achieve the same look. I made medium sized plaits in my hair this time to create a more crinkly braidout as opposed to cornrows. This is my very simple routine to achieve this look: The night before I lightly spritz my dry locs with H20, I don't use any other products, plait my hair in sections and then allow them to air dry over night. The next morning I unbraid them to get some awesome crinkles! What's your routine?

This is my favorite too now that my SLs have length. I usually wash my hair after getting in from work...let it air dry for a while before a braid it. I go to sleep and wake up to dry braids. Take them down and go. No products or anything. Very simple. No one ever believes it is my own hair---they think it is extenstions.

I do the same thing as my routine. I normally wash my hair and then dry them really good. Then braid them for this same look. It's so easy :)

Kalia,
Have you noticed a significant difference in your locs since you've switched to 3point pattern? My locs are now 18 months and I'm wondering if switching my pattern will help with thickening some of the thin ones, verses combining more?

very nice! The 3pt rotation really makes a difference! My locs are fuller!

Your locks are beautiful and thanx for the tip. I just got my SL installed but I can't wait to get some more length to do this look.

I'm loving your current color! Have you dyed it recently or is this a mix of the colors you've used over time?

@Nubian1: Awe, really? I think you're right now that I look at my hair.

@Happiest Nappy: I know! Can you believe that? People don't ask me if it's my hair anymore, but I do get that look of curiosity every now and then.

@Kris: I haven't seen a significant difference because my newly latched roots haven't matured yet, but i'm waiting in anticipation to notice any immediate changes. I've read that a 3pt. is a looser pattern and will help your locks expand more. Now if your hair is naturally thin then I wouldn't know, but everyone's hair is different. You can try out this pattern before deciding to combine any and see what happens.

@NLP: Ok, i'm sold!! Anything NLP says, believe it everyone. LOL!

@TWI: Patience is a virtue so enjoy the journey of having cute, short locks right now.

@Allecia: I haven't dyed it recently but it might be due to all the sun exposure i've had. I do have a mix of colors in my hair though.

They look so great on you. Crinkles are my favourite too. I don't use any product or water. The longer I want them to stay and the more defined I want them is dependent on how long I keep my plaits in.

@R.C.B. Exactly. I prefer to lightly spritz my hair with water, braid my locks, allow them to air dry over night and then take them out. Voila!

This style is really nice. It looks definetly salon styled. I will definetly be wearing this style when my locks get longer. Your hair is too cute!
